Celebrating 4,000 Young Doctors Graduates
Celebration of our 4,000th Young Doctor graduate, Young Doctor Amber. A remarkable achievement in training the next generation of Aboriginal health leaders.

Malpa is proud to celebrate a major milestone with the graduation of our 4,000th Young Doctor.
This achievement represents thousands of young people across Australia who have taken part in the Young Doctors for Life program, building leadership skills, health knowledge, confidence, and stronger connections to culture and community.
One of the newest graduates, Young Doctor Amber, spoke about the impact the program has had on her life.
“Malpa has made me feel proud of my heritage and shown me how to be a role model,” she said.
For many young people, the program provides more than education. It creates opportunities to build self-belief, strengthen cultural identity, and develop the confidence to make positive choices for themselves, their families, and their communities.
Malpa CEO Don Palmer said the milestone reflects the strength and potential of the young people involved in the program.
“I am excited to see the difference these Young Doctors make in their communities and in their personal lives. They embrace the present and future with hope instead of despair,” he said.
Since its beginning, the Young Doctors for Life program has continued to grow across Australia, supporting young people through culturally informed health education, leadership development, mentoring, and community connection.
The momentum continues in 2025, with a further 820 Young Doctors expected to train and graduate across Western Australia, New South Wales, Victoria, and South Australia.
Every graduate represents another young leader equipped with knowledge, confidence, and the ability to inspire positive change within their community.
Congratulations to all 4,000 Young Doctors who have been part of this journey so far.
