South Australia Professional Development
Malpa team gathered for professional development and collaboration sessions across South Australia, strengthening partnerships and sharing best practices.

An incredible group of educators, Aboriginal Community Education Officers (ACEOs), and supporters recently came together in South Australia as part of the growing Malpa family, united by a shared goal of empowering young people and strengthening communities.
The teachers and ACEOs who deliver the Malpa Young Doctors Program play a vital role in supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students through culturally informed education, leadership, and health learning opportunities. At the same time, the program helps non-Indigenous students build greater understanding of culture, respect, and connection, creating stronger relationships and shared learning within schools and communities.
The gathering created a valuable opportunity for educators and ACEOs to connect, share ideas, discuss experiences, and learn from one another. Conversations focused on what is already working well within schools and communities, while exploring new ways to continue strengthening the positive impact of the program for young people.
The day highlighted the importance of collaboration, community partnerships, and culturally safe learning environments that support both students and educators alike.
A big thank you to Michael Davies from PwC Australia Adelaide for organising the space for the gathering, and to Allan for hosting everyone on the day. Your support and generosity helped make the event possible and greatly appreciated by all involved.
